Έλενα Ευαγγελια

Elena Evangelia is a dancer from Athens, Greece. She started dancing at a very young age has never stopped since. At her early life, she was trained in Ballroom disciplines. She graduated with a BA in Communication from UOA,(Gr) and in 2009 she moved to London to study Dance Education and (MFA) Choreography. She has also studied jazz music for almost a decade and owns a diploma in jazz singing(Nakas,Gr). While standing in line for a dance audition in London, she saw a couple dancing to the tunes of a saxophone player at the street. She instantly felt in love with the swinging groove of
Jazz. In 2012 she started her own cultural space, teaching rhythmical jazz and vernacular/street dances, keeping the focus on how they have evolved from and influenced each other. She had worked as a dancer and teacher in dance studios, such as Pineapple London(UK), Metaxopoulos(Gr), and many festivals such as DSF(Pl), RTSF(De), RBW(De), DFA (Gr) and many cities in Europe(Treviso It, Prague CHR, London UK, Bergen No, Thessaloniki Gr and more). She teaches regularly at her studio Jump n Jive in Athens. As a teacher, she loves to guide her students to explore their dancing potentials. She constantly is looking into interpreting movement and exploration, respecting tradition and moving forward.
